Senter wins www.RockAuto.com USCS 600 sprint Friday contest at Tennessee National
Hohenwald, TN - March 15, 2013 – Travis Senter from Osceola, Arkansas held off the charges of defending www.rockauto.com USCS 600 Sprint Car Series Champion Bobby Zaiontz from Columbus, Mississippi on Friday night to claim the top prize in the winged mini sprint portion of the “Tennessee 200” at Tennessee National Raceway on Friday night. It was Senter’s first USCS 600 win of the season in three starts.
Both Travis Senter who started third on the grid and defending Champion, Bobby Zaiontz from Columbus, Mississippi raced past front row starters Sean Hosey from Clarksville, Tennessee and Kyle Carpenter from Baldwyn, Mississippi on lap one. Senter led over Zaiontz until lap ten of the fifteen lap contest when Zaiontz grabbed the lead. The defending and two-time series Champion until lap fourteen when Senter charged back around him and led the finishing order to the www.rockauto.com USCS victory lane ahead of Zaiontzin the runner-up spot followed by Carpenter in third, Mike Magic from Winder, Georgia in fourth place and young gun Hayden Martin from Olive Branch, Mississippi who finished fifth.
The balance of the field was led by Warren Frye, Jr. from Murfreesboro, Tennessee in sixth place followed by Derek SWarren from Oak Grove, Kentucky in seventh place. Warren Frye III, also from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, finished eighth followed by Bob Trapino from Alpharetta, Georgia in ninth place and soldier Reece Wommack from Faulkner, Mississippi rounded out the top ten drivers.
Senter earlier won the six-lap Hoosier Race Tire Speed Dash and the www.rockauto.com Second Heat Race. Mike Magic got the win in the Engler Machine and Tool First Heat. Sean hosey collected the K&N Filters Pole Award. Warren Frye, Jr. garnered the Wilwood Disc Brakes Hard Charger Award for advancing the most positions in the main event by passing eight cars.
